Regional Project Assistant
Multiple Sclerosis Africa Awareness Campaign (MSAAC) โ Phase 1
Key Responsibilities
- Community Awareness: Conduct 4 awareness sessions per week at churches, schools, CBOs, women's/youth groups, and public gatherings. Explain MS clearly, distribute materials, answer questions.
- Partnership Building: Identify and approach new partners monthly โ churches, schools, CBOs, health facilities, local leaders. Secure 1-2 new partnerships per month and maintain relationships through regular check-ins.
- Patient Support Connection: Identify people living with MS and caregivers during sessions. Explain available support (counselling, peer groups, emergency relief). Help them complete the MSKF onboarding Google Form for national team follow-up.
- Story Collection: Identify members willing to share their MS story for awareness and fundraising. Collect signed consent forms. Forward strong story leads to the Communications Officer immediately.
- Reporting and Data: Track attendance numbers at all sessions. Take at least 3 clear photos per session. Submit a weekly report every Friday. Attend monthly coordination meetings. Manage transport allowance responsibly with receipts.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or certificate in community development, social work, public health, or related field.
- At least 1 year experience in community engagement, outreach, or working with local organizations.
- Fluent in English and Kiswahili. Knowledge of local language in assigned region is a strong advantage.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the assigned region.
- Confident public speaker who can explain complex topics simply.
- Builds trust quickly with diverse partners including church leaders, school heads, CBOs, and health workers.
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable using smartphone, Google Forms, WhatsApp, and basic photography.
- Access to reliable transport within the region (motorbike, bicycle, or public transport).
- Demonstrates empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients and families.

16 sessions/month (4/week)
15 new members onboarded
1 new partnership secured/month
4 weekly reports on time
2 story leads shared
100% attendance at monthly meetings
Working Conditions
๐ Hours: 20โ25 hours per week, including weekends. Extensive travel within assigned region.
๐ฑ Allowances: Monthly transport and airtime allowance provided. Must have own smartphone.
๐ Materials: MSKF provides branded materials, brochures, consent forms.
๐งพ Reimbursement: Transport allowance managed with receipts.
